“How great is the love a Father has lavished on us . . .” I John 3:1 Mr. Clyde Andrew Puckett, age 83, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on June 15, 1929 in Watauga, TN and was the son of the late Thomas Calvin and Rachel Breeding Puckett. Mr. Puckett worked for North American Rayon Corporation for forty-seven years and retired in 1992. He was very loving and enjoyed taking care of his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Puckett also enjoyed fishing, watching sports and the Elizabethton Twins baseball games. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers, Harlow Kiser, Guy Puckett, Gilmer Puckett, Giles Puckett, Howard Puckett, Carson Puckett, Clayton Puckett and Thomas Puckett. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of fifty-five years, Bell Puckett, of the home; four daughters, Nancy Stout and husband Ron, Elizabethton; Robbin Gibson, Elizabethton; Liz Puckett, of the home and Debbie Weaver and husband Steve, Johnson City; grandchildren, Daniel Stout, Sharon Gaynor, Tiffany Scalf, Sheila Carver, Kim Gibson, Doug Gibson, Jake Weaver, Jacqueline Campbell and Jeffery Fields; great-grandchildren, Hunter Moody, Colby Blevins, Zackary Gaynor, Korey Gaynor, Kayla Gaynor and Hayden Gibson and a sister, Marie Malone, Watauga. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Mr. Clyde Andrew Puckett will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, March 21, 2013 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Greg Key, minister officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 22, 2013 in George Mottern Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steve Weaver, Jake Weaver, Daniel Stout, Doug Gibson, Teddy Malone, Jeffrey Fields and Ronnie Moody. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thanks to Mountain States Hospice nurses and staff for their compassion, assistance and support which made an immeasurable difference during this time.
