Myrt and family,
Charlie was a wonderful mentor to me. He was a gentleman and a wonderful role model to me, my sisters, and family. When I moved to Pensacola, Charlie was one of my first guests. He grew up in Pensacola and shared much of its history with me.
My deepest condolences. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

He was so great to Herb and I. I will always remember his call to me while we were in Nashville. I was alone and he made my night and boosted mine and Herb’s feelings with a comment that is like Charlie we loved him and Mryt we love you too. If you need us let us know.

Charlie was a one of a kind friend to us for many years. In our younger days we spent many New Year’s Eves together with friends at Kerbella in Knoxville. We loved being a part of “A little bit of Heaven in ‘87!” Often decided we wanted to go to Knoxville just to shop and eat. Picnics for breakfast at the lake on July 4th and tomato gravy. Trips to his childhood stomping ground on A Street in Pensacola.

Charlie helped so many young people to get jobs at Kennametal, including our son-in-law, Larry. For this kindness we are forever grateful. We know our world was a brighter place because of our friendship.

Myrt you gave him love and the family he never had. You lived his dream with him on Watauga Lake. We love you and pray for your comfort and peace.

I worked for Charlie alongside Sheila Bray at Kennametal. Charlie was my first boss who treated me with respect, kindness and in turn I respected him. I will always remember Charlie as the best boss I’ve ever had and the best person I’ve known. My sincere condolences to his family on a life very well lived! Beth Carr Frazier

Charlie was a second father to me and I loved him dearly. I will always cherish my memories and Wanda was so honored to have been blessed to know Charlie and will always cherish the last dance that she and Charlie shared at Jericho. He was so special to both of us. We will miss him dearly. Myrt take comfort in knowing how much he loved you. All our love and prayers. Kenny and Wanda Carter.

I had the wonderful opportunity, years ago, to work with Charlie at Kennametal in the 70's. He was always so kind and quick to make people smile. May God comfort each of you during this time. Sending my thoughts and prayers with fond memories.
