Mrs. Blanche Guy Perkins, 130 Perkins Road, Elizabethton, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Guy and Lillie Trivette Guy Hubbard. Blanche was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had the gift of hospitality and everyone was made to feel welcome at her home. She was a member of Beck Mountain Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Perkins; a granddaughter, Rebecca Perkins; a sister, Martha Honeycutt and a brother Chester Guy. Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Vance and her husband Larry and two sons, Edward Perkins and wife Shirley and David Perkins and wife Tina, all of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Michael Vance and wife Jennifer, Laura Lemberger and husband Ken, Frank Perkins and wife Lisa, Kendra Perkins and Jon Perkins and four great-grandchildren, Lilly Vance, Andrew Vance, Richard Lemberger and Mckenzie Perkins. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside service for Mrs. Blanche Guy Perkins will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 15, 2013 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Active pallbearers will be Michael Vance, Frank Perkins, Jon Perkins, Richard Lemberger, Eddie Sams, Larry Vance and Marvin Honeycutt. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 12:50 P.M. on Friday for the service. The family would like to express a special thank you to Blanche’s caregivers at Hermitage Health Center for their care of Mrs. Perkins.
