Billy M. Pierce

Billy M. Pierce, age 70, of the Valley Forge Community of Elizabethton, went to be with his Lord Sunday, February 24, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late William R. and Ruth Disney Pierce. He was a member and former deacon of Elizabethton Church of Christ. Mr. Pierce loved God, his grandchildren and nature, especially the mountains. As a patient, kind and loving husband, father and brother, he will be missed. He enjoyed making Native American art and was versed in their culture. He was also a Volkswagen enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel Pierce; a brother, Kenneth Danny Pierce and a sister, Deanna Pierce Wiseman. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Range Pierce, of the home; a daughter, Julie Pierce Miller and husband John, Gray, TN; a son, Jamey Pierce and wife Anna, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Heather Miller, Johnny Miller, Dakota Pierce and Josie Pierce; a brother, Michael Edward Pierce and wife Debbie, Roan Mountain; an aunt, Elizabeth Lowe, Elizabethton; a brother-in-law, Gary Range and wife Elaine, Lexington, NC and special cousins, Ann and Berdel Little and Jimmy Lowe, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial service for Billy M. Pierce will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the Elizabethton Church of Christ with Mr. Roby Ellis and Mr. Eddie Craft, ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday prior to the memorial service.
