"View This Video Tribute"Mrs. Betty G. Keeton, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, age 73, of Elizabethton, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 29, 2011 in the Pine Ridge Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Nora Jane Renfro Guess. Mrs. Keeton was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Keeton; two sisters, Thelma Reheart and Dorothy Jones; and two brothers, Charles Guess and Ray Guess. Mrs. Keeton is survived by her son, Tom Keeton, Gray; two daughters, Alice Carr and her husband, Kenneth, Elizabethton, and Nora Keeton and James Trivett, Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Carr, Elizabethton, Joseph Carr, Johnson City, Stephen Aldrich, Watauga, April Aldrich, Johnson City, Heather Potter and husband, Billy, Johnson City, Michael Keeton, Kingsport, and Mckenzie Keeton, Kingsport; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Sadie Waggoner and husband, Cecil, Dowelltown, TN; and two brothers, Luther Guess and wife, Willis, and Clayton Guess and wife, Penny, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  The graveside service for Mrs. Betty G. Keeton will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in the Highland Cemetery with Rev. Greg Wagner officiating. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Carr, Joseph Carr, Stephen Aldrich, and Eric Williams. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.  Those who prefer memorials in-lieu-of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, %Lou Cooter, 415 Washington Avenue, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
