Anna Luster Dugger Pate

Anna Luster Dugger Pate, age 88, of Elizabethton passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Jett and Nell Ward Dugger. Ms. Pate had worked at North American Rayon Corporation and retired from Empire Furniture Company in Johnson City. She was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Louie Ray Pate; two brothers, Clarence Dugger and James Dugger and two sisters, Laura Taylor and Virginia Wilson. Survivors include a grandson, Dr. Joshua Pate and wife Julie, Harrisonburg, VA; a great-grandson, Hudson Pate, Harrisonburg, VA; a daughter-in-law, Linda Pate, Elizabethton; three sisters, Hannah Whitehead, Artha Loveless and Sue Dugger, all of Elizabethton; three brothers-in-law, Jack Pate and wife Nellie, Bill Pate and wife Elaine and Teddy Pate and wife Margaret and two sisters-in-law, Doris Campbell and husband Joe and Mayme Pate Smith. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews including a special niece, Bobbie Taylor, a special great-niece, Sydnee Taylor and a special great-nephew, Hunter Jones also survive. Funeral service for Anna Luster Dugger Pate will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday prior to the service or at the residence of her daughter-in-law, Linda Pate at other times. Committal and entombment service will follow the funeral service in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be David Taylor, Terry Whitehead, Steve Whitehead, Tom Jones, Joe Carrier, Teddy Pate, Steve Dulin and Hunter Jones. Ms. Pate had many special friends including her mailman, Frank, Dr. Jim Royston, Lucille Ownby and family, Mary Forbes, Harry and Vickie Ford and Buster and Maxine Arnold. The family would like to express a special thank you to the ICU staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital for their care of Ms. Pate.
