Alma "Susie" Ray

Alma “Sue” Ray, 60, of Roan Mountain went home to be with the Lord April 17, 2020 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Alma was the daughter of the late William and Irene Thompson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers.Alma worked at the hosiery mill and she enjoyed playing corn hole. Those left to cherish her memory include 2 sons; Robbie Ray and Phillip Ray both of Roan Mountain; 2 Sisters, Joann Campbell of Roan Mountain and Mary Davis of Elk Park, North Carolina; 2 Brothers, David Thompson and Mike Thompson both of Roan Mountain; her longtime boyfriend, Floyd Jones of Roan Mountain and her best friend, Cindy Clevenger of Roan Mountain. Several Nieces and nephews also survive. The family will have a private graveside service at Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery in Elk Park, North Carolina.
