“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8 Reverend Albert Jarnagin Jr., 78, of Johnson City, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday December 1st, 2023 following a brief illness at his residence. He was born on October 30th, 1945 in Morristown, TN to the late Albert and Vaultie Miller Jarnagin. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Jarnagin. Albert retired from EZ-Painter in Johnson City as a Supervisor after 35 years. He loved his Lord and Savior most of all. Albert loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. When he was well, he liked to go fishing, camping, and going to church. He enjoyed watching the TN Vols play football and playing with his little dog, Cookie. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Debra Jarnagin of the home; two daughters, Lorrie and (Lee) Gay, Sandy Gass and and the late (Terry); a special friend, Robby Murphy; two sons, Daniel and (Margaret) Rasnick, Allen and (Becky) Jarnagin; grandchildren, Katie Rasnick, Jon Rasnick, Nicholas Wilson, and Hayley Jarnagin; Great grandchildren, Zoey, Rylan, and Mason and one sister, Kathy Johnson (Gary). In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Carter County Animal Shelter at 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive Elizabethton, TN 37643. Services will be held privately.
