Ruby Worthley, 71, of Johnson City, went home to be with her Lord, on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. She was the daughter of the late James and Rhoda Hardin Miller and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker who loved to read her Bible, work in flowers and spend time with her family.Mrs. Worthley was a wonderful, sweet, women who will be missed by her family, including her fiancé, R.C. Matthews, of the home; three daughters, Brenda Sorrell and her fiancé, William Foster, Churchill; Cindy Tester, Johnson City, with whom she made her home; Kimberly Worthley and her fiancé, Sammy Castle, Elizabethton; four sons, Danny Worthley, Kingsport; Johnny Worthley, Elizabethton; Jiggs Worthley and his wife, Linda Skinner Worthley; Johnson City; Ronnie Lynn Curtis and his fiancée, Ashlee Miller, Johnson City; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Miller, of Johnson City; and a sister, Betty Drewrey, Springfield, TN; and two stepchildren, Deborah Broyles and David Curtis.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Worthley will be conducted on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Steve Wilson and Rev. Raymond Perkinson, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from Noon – 1:00 PM on Thursday prior to the service.Interment will follow the funeral service on Thursday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

I always remember Her in the way that with her heart a open arms welcome us in her house , the first time we arrived in this city.
Now that her beautiful spirit is in heave, She knows who's who in this world. I feel in my heart her death, but thank GOD she does not suffer any more. Thank Ruby.

Ruby, your light will always shine for us. I still miss looking for it in the window. Our sincere sympathy to all family members. Ruby was one of a kind and we know she is in a better place now.
