Ruby E. Moffitt

Mrs. Ruby E. Moffitt, age 92, of Maryville, TN passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at the Asbury Place Maryville, on her birthday, following an extended illness. A native of Marshall, NC she was the daughter of the late Edith Fisher. She was a homemaker and she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church Elizabethton. Ruby loved her children and grandchildren. She also loved to garden and her dogs.In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Moffitt and a daughter, Donna Faye Moffitt Jen. Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Vera Wortman and husband Bill, Maryville, TN; Kathy Raymer and husband Scotty, Statesville, NC and Debbie Bailey and husband Carl, Johnson City, TN; a son, Dennis Moffitt, Maryville, TN; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a special cousin, Grace Buckner, North Carolina.A service to honor the life of Mrs. Ruby E. Moffitt will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Raymond W. Amos, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Saturday prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow the funeral service in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
