Pauline Lucy Brown McKinney, age 77, of Baileyton, began her eternal life on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from her residence. Pauline was a native of Carter County and was a daughter of the late John M. Brown and Maudie Alice Benefield Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Wallace David McKinney; three brothers, Bill Brown, Mack Lawrence Brown and Frank Brown; and one sister, Jane Johnson. Pauline was a loving Mother and a homemaker. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith and loved flowers, pets, gardening and taking care of her family. Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Johnny Wayne McKinney and David Wade McKinney, both of Baileyton; two daughters, Sandra K. Wilburn and husband Jamy, of Baileyton and Betty Gail Graybeal and husband Jeff, of Elizabethton; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Barney Brown, of Hampton and Paul Brown, of Erwin; and one sister, Patsy Simerly and husband Ed, of Hampton. A service to celebrate the life of Pauline Lucy Brown McKinney will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. David Foster, minister officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Hathaway-Percy prior to the service on Wednesday or at the residence of her daughter, Betty, at any time. The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 13, 2017 in the McKinney Family Cemetery with Mr. Justin Hodges, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Graybeal, Tyler Graybeal, Jake Graybeal, Ed Simerly, Eddie Simerly, Brian Rawles, Jacob Johnson and Jody Greene. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at 12:30 PM at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services to go in procession to the cemetery.
