Mary E. Peeks

Mrs. Mary E. Peeks, age 81, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Haskill and Vera Davis Carr. Mrs. Peeks had worked as a seamstress at Levi-Straus. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outside, gardening and working with her flowers.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. (Bill) Peeks Jr. and a brother, Robert Carr. Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Billy R. Peeks, Johnson City; Bobby J. Peeks, of the home and Ricky L. Peeks, Elizabethton; a grandson, Aaron Peeks, Johnson City; two sisters, Evelyn Carver, Johnson City and Vera Mae Carr, South Carolina and four brothers, Rowe S. Carr, Elizabethton; Sherrill Carr, Bluff City; Grady Carr, Johnson City and Haskill Carr Jr., Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Mary E. Peeks will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in the Morrell Cemetery, Bluff City with Rev. Jerry Lyons officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services at 1:15 PM on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.Read Obituary
