Margaret G. Presnell Akers

Mrs. Margaret G. Presnell Akers, age 76, of Elizabethton, TN went home to meet her Lord and join her family in Heaven on Thursday, October 13, 2016. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Bertha Beatrice Harrison Presnell. She was a loving wife and mother who loved God with all her heart. Mrs. Akers attended City Mission Church. She enjoyed sewing.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-eight years, Donald Akers, of the home; three sons, Ronald Akers, Stanford, FL, Donald Akers and wife Lois, Independence, VA and George Akers and wife Debbie, Cookeville, TN; two daughters, Miranda Akers Ashby and husband Jason, Johnson City, TN and Kayla Roskie, of the home. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews also survive.A service to honor the life of Mrs. Margaret G. Presnell Akers will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 16, 2016 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Mack Presnell and Rev. Dean Presnell officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Mike Presnell, soloist. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Sunday prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Markland Cemetery, Buck Mountain. Active pallbearers will be Jason Ashby, Miranda Ashby, Mike Presnell, Ronnie Akers, George Akers and Donald Akers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lois Akers and Debbie Akers.Read Obituary
