James "Danny" Hughes

James “Danny” Hughes, age 75, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. A native of Banner Elk, NC he was the son of the late Reva Hughes Morgan. Mr. Hughes was of the Christian faith. He loved to fish and attend auctions.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracey Holsclaw and a grandson, Jeremy Hughes. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty years, Lila Gail Hughes, of the home; two daughters, Janie Moore, Elizabethton and Lorie Hughes, Jonesborough; fifteen grandchildren including a very special granddaughter, Morgan Reed and seven great-grandchildren.A graveside service to honor the life of James “Danny” Hughes will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Johnson-Roanview Cemetery, Roan Mountain with the Rev. Bradley Hughes officiating. Music will be under the direction of Rev. Bradley Hughes and Carmella Hughes. Active pallbearers will be family. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Arnett, John Berry and John Roberson. Everyone attending the graveside service is asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 P.M. on Tuesday.Read Obituary
