Mr. Dewey S. Hale Jr., age 62, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Laughlin Healthcare Center, Greeneville, TN. A native of Murfreesboro, TN he was the son of the late Dewey S. Hale Sr. and Dorothy Carter Hale. Mr. Hale was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved the outdoors.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Joey Braswell. Those left to cherish his memory include his former wife, Mary Hale; a daughter, Gerry Letcher; a special son-in-law, Kenneth Hammitt; a grandson, Douglas Braswell; a granddaughter, Brianna Braswell; a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Campbell; a step-daughter, Maude Buchanan, very special friends, William Braswell, Cody Braswell, Dustin Braswell, Angel Boones and Chad Matherly, all of Elizabethton.Read Obituary

Dewey, you was a great and loving man. God has gained a very special angel in Heaven,when He called you Home.
You have been a cherished friend to me and Jeff too. We both loved you very much and we will cherish the memories we have had. The laughing, jokes, special talks and even those crying conversations we've had over the years. And man oh MAN, could you fix a mean steak. I know you are better now, no tears, no pain and nothing but happiness and smiles for eternity.
We will see you again one day, and we will laugh and take long walks in those streets of gold, and you can finally retire your lawnmower. LOL.
Just know Dewey, you was loved dearly and we will always cherish each moment we had with you. There are so many things you taught us concerning different projects we have done, those experiences will live on with us. I only pray that I can be that friend to others as you have been to us.
