Daniel Deen McNulty, age 64, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Alice Jackson McNulty of McKinney, Texas and the late Robert McNulty. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Harmon McNulty.Mr. McNulty was retired from the United States Marine Corp and the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the city of Elizabethton, as well as the people of Elizabethton.Survivors include three daughters, Annette L. Garland and husband Earl, Butler, Anita L. McNabb and fiancé, Kevin Humphrey, Elizabethton, and Stacey Morriss and fiancé, Butch Booth, Elizabethton; ten grandchildren, Savannah Matherly and fiancé Jeff, Cheyenne, WY, James McNulty, Dana Matherly, Ehlena McNabb, Casandra Morriss and fiancé, Eric Clifton, John McNabb, III, Dillon Morriss, and Daniel Booth, all of Elizabethton, William Matherly, Butler, and Nicholas Lawson, Bristol, TN; six great grandchildren; one sister, Celeste Hardin, McKinney, TX and one niece, also survives. A service to honor the life of Mr. Daniel Deen McNulty will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Music will be under the direction of Nioka Markland. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday. The graveside service will be conducted at 1:45 PM on Friday, November 14, 2014 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Earl Garland, Butch Booth, Kevin Humphrey, James McNulty, Dana Matherly, Eric Clifton, William Matherly, Nick Lawson, J. Michael McNabb, Dillon Morriss, and Daniel Booth. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 12:45 PM at Hathaway Percy Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday, to go in procession. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Toys for Tots, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, The Cooper Center, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172-1776.
