Mr. Bill Warren Smithey, age 68, of Elizabethton, TN born July 8, 1947 passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native Carter County, he was the son of the late Warren Smithey and Muriel Smithey Heaton. Mr. Smithey had worked as a machine operator with Snap-On-Tools.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving, life-long companion of forty-seven years, Ann Hodge and three brothers, Ray Scalf, George Scalf and Hazen Scalf. Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Ricco Taylor; two step-daughters, Vicki Wilson and husband Myron and Kathy Zannis; two step-grandsons, Nicholas Wilson and Tyler Wilson and one sister, Brenda Kite-Hamilton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.It was Mr. Smithey’s wishes to be cremated and a private family celebration of life service will be held in his honor at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Compassion International, 12290 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80921-3668 to sponsor a child.

I so remember going to my uncle Earl's house and Bill would be laying on the couch , I might have been about 4 or 5 , but he was my "boy friend" I so loved him and Ann both. So sorry for your loss , he was a good man.
